LIP BLUSH
Lip blushing provides the client with an ultra natural and sheer wash of color - a similar effect to lip tint. It is a great way to add definition, correct asymmetry, even out color, and/or create fullness.
Lips are interesting in that they are already pigmented, often unevenly or with more than one shade. Color choice is usually a collaboration between myself and the client. Although the goal is always to get as close as the desired shade, in some cases certain colors may not be used due to a risk of creating further discoloration.
Lips with scarring, sun damage, very cool colored (strong blue undertones) or that are multi-toned, etc... may need additional sessions in order to achieve the desired results.
If you are a person of color and fall in the Fitz 3 or above scale and your lips are brown or your top lip and bottom lip are different colors, please refer to the DARK LIPS page for additional information as your lip tattoo process may differ.
If you have any lip conditions mentioned above or anything you feel may impact your result, please reach out via email or the contact page on this website for a consultation prior to booking.
Any client with a history of cold sores/fever blisters will need to take prescribed anti viral medication in the days leading up to and after their appointment. even if it was several years since any outbreak.
Additional information about whether you would be a good candidate for this service can be found on the FAQS page of this website.
First session is $650. A booking fee of $200 is required at the time of booking and will be applied to your total balance at the time of your appointment.
Touch ups are a separate cost of $200 and is scheduled approximately 6-12 weeks from your initial session. Clients who receive a neutralizing session are recommended to wait 8 weeks for a touch up session.
A little about the process….
Each client receives a full consultation at the time of their appointment. Client’s will often bring inspiration photos or their favorite go-to lipstick or tint. As mentioned above, depending on the client’s natural lip color, some goals may be easier to achieve than others, but there will always be options.
I will typically use a red lip liner pencil to draw on a shape to help the client visualize the outcome. I can not go more than 1-2mm outside the natural lip border, so while some fullness and definition can be achieved, anyone looking for significantly larger looking lips or shape correction may benefit more from lip filler. Lip neutralization appointments focus less on symmetry at the first and sometimes second session as the primary goal is to even saturation and blending of darkly pigmented areas.
Two types of anesthetics are used throughout to keep the client numb and comfortable.
Lip blush appointments can range from 2-4 hours depending on the lip size and desired saturation.
Information on how to prepare for a lip blush appointment can be found on the Pre-Care section of this website under FAQs.
